The Story
Col d’Orcia’s Brunello di Montalcino is a traditional expression of Sangiovese from the hills of Montalcino, overlooking the Orcia River. The 2013 vintage benefited from a balanced growing season, with timely rainfall and pronounced temperature variation helping preserve freshness and aromatic definition. Harvest began in the second half of September, with rigorous selection in both the vineyard and cellar.

Aroma
Deep red plum and ripe red berries lead into classic Montalcino notes of wild cherry, underbrush, tobacco leaf and grilled porcini, with subtle spice and oak adding complexity.

Palate
Full and structured, with concentrated red fruit framed by polished, dry tannins and vibrant acidity. Wild cherry, pomegranate and ground clove emerge through a savoury, finely detailed palate, giving the wine both depth and precision.

✨ Finish
Long, persistent and savoury, with ripe fruit, spice and earthy nuances lingering alongside firm but refined tannins. The finish is fresh and mineral-tinged, with the structure to reward further time in bottle.

️ Origin
Italy Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
Montalcino · Siena · Tuscany, Italy
The estate’s vineyards sit on the hills overlooking the Orcia River, at approximately 300 metres above sea level, with a south-southwest exposure that receives sunlight throughout the day.

The Blend
100% Sangiovese, using particular clones selected by Col d’Orcia. The grapes are hand harvested with rigorous bunch selection before fermentation.

The Cellar
Fermented on the skins for approximately 18–20 days at controlled temperatures below 28°C. The wine was aged for four years, including three years in large oak casks of Slavonian and Allier oak, followed by at least 12 months of bottle refinement before release. The extended élevage gives the wine its combination of structure, savoury complexity and polished tannins.
